# TinMic privacy by design

Your voice is for your Mac, not TinMic servers.

TinMic runs speech-to-text locally on the user's Mac. Microphone audio and transcripts are not uploaded for transcription, collected, or sold.

What stays on the user's Mac:
- Microphone audio.
- Transcripts produced by the app.
- Custom vocabulary.
- Hotkey settings.

What TinMic does not collect:
- Audio recordings.
- Transcripts produced by TinMic.
- The contents of apps users dictate into.
- Raw hardware serial numbers.
- Full payment card numbers.

What connects to TinMic services:
- Secure download links.
- License validation.
- Release notes.
- Update checks and authorized update downloads.
